Test Description Monitoring of bone marrow engraftment using apolipoprotein C-II, D3S1282, D3S1300, D6S264, D18S62, fibrinogen alpha chain, Penta D, Penta E, D18S51, D21S11, D17S5, amelogenin, Y-linked. Chimerism analysis cannot be performed unless a donor specimen and a pre-transplant recipient specimen have been received by the laboratory.

Method Type specific assay/s
Method Comment A pre-determined informative polymorphic genetic marker is used to determine the percentage of donor and recipient leucoytes in a post-transplant specimen using end-point PCR and denaturing polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis.
Sample Required Must make booking with Flow Cytometry lab before collecting post-transplant samples. Donor: 2x10ml EDTA blood; Pre-transplant recipient: 2x10ml EDTA blood; Post-transplant recipient 1ml EDTA bone marrow
